Laser Dentistry Dental lasers are a family of instruments. Some lasers are used for surgery, some to cure restorative materials and enhance tooth bleaching, and others to remove tooth structure for elimination of disease and restoration – different lasers for different procedures. Our dentists are certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry and our office has 2 dental lasers, both a hard and soft tissue laser. We have all seen gummy smiles, when too much gum tissue is exposed causing the teeth to appear too wide and short. A simple and highly effective procedure of gum re-contouring with a laser can be performed to show more tooth structure; both elongating the tooth and diminishing the amount of gum tissue that shows. Lori’s Smile Makover Journey After being very self conscious about her teeth and smile Lori finally decided to see what cosmetic dentistry could do for her.
